Santa came early to visit Cluny School to deliver some presents.
We enjoyed a whole school trip to Belmont Cinema to see ‘Arthur Christmas’ and to the newly refurbished Aberdeen Art Gallery. Pupils enjoyed looking around and participating in the interactive activities.
Pupils enjoyed a festive trip to visit Santa at BA stores and Tyrebagger forest where they met some of Santa’s elves. One of the elves, ‘Mr Chopper-Upper’, chopped down the Christmas tree for the school which the children took back on the bus! Each class in the school enjoyed making decorations to hang on the tree.
A huge thank you to everyone that made our Christmas Fair a great success. The school was busy and buzzing and we all had a great time. We managed to raise a grand total of £530!
The pupil council delivered 45.82 kg of food to Inverurie Foodbank. Thank you for your support with this initiative, our combined efforts will go some way to making many other people’s Christmas a better one.
The weather didn’t stop us having a great grounds day. Pupils participated in forest craft, creating squirrel obstacle courses and building bat and bird boxes with Mr Walton. Thank you Mr Walton for your time on Friday and to Jim at Midmar Timber Centre who kindly donated the wood for the boxes.
Marty from Inverurie Foodbank came to our assembly on Friday 22nd November to talk about how a foodbank works and told us about the types of food items that would be helpful to collect for our reverse calendar. All food items need to be brought into school by Monday 9th December.
What a great start to Skills Academy today, there was such a of buzz of excitement in the school this afternoon. Pupils participated in a range of different skills groups – music and choir, calligraphy, knitting, forest schools, film making and gardening. Thank you to all our parent helpers for their fantastic support and commitment to making our skills academy get off to a great start!
